Antoni Roig Building
This is a noble building in Modernist style which was inaugurated in 1892.
This building was, originally, the Roig School. It was built thanks to Antoni Roig i Copons, an Indiano* from Torredembarra, who created the Roig Trust at late S. XIX. This foundation was responsible for providing education to the boys and girls from Torredembarra, and also to help poor young ladies by giving them a dower when they got married, a tradition that still persists today.
It is now the headquarters of the municipal departments of education and social welfare, and various other municipal entities.
*Indiano: A person who lived a long time in the "West Indies" and finally returned to his village.
